Tom Fiedler, former executive editor at the Miami Herald and former South Florida SPJ member, has been named dean of the Boston University College of Communication. Fiedler worked at the Herald for 30 years, as an investigative reporter, a political columnist, the editorial page editor, and, finally, the executive editor from 2001 to 2007. He is currently a visiting Murrow Lecturer and Goldsmith Fellow at Harvard University’s Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics, and Public Policy.
