National SPJ
The Society of Professional Journalists is a national organization made up of 250 chapters and about 9,000 members constantly working to improve and protect journalism. The South Florida Pro Chapter is proud to be part of this group.
SPJ was founded in 1909 at DePauw University in Indiana. Today, the organization maintains its national headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. From those headquarters, the National SPJ provides many resources to journalists. Those resources include a legal defense fund, a code of ethics, the Pulliam Editorial Writing Fellowship, Quill magazine, and much more.
